Lila Nikolaou

INTRODUCTION

She was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece, in 1990. She graduated from the Department of Business Administration of University of Macedonia and in 2022 completed her postgraduate studies in Art Management at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice.

With her studies as a starting point, she was interested in discovering the way a group moves, through diversity of roles, with the common goal of “creating” and implementing a vision. She entered the art field by working as an assistant organizer in art festivals. She was inspired by the joy of people coming together through art and culture, communicating and creating new conditions of action and interaction. Art for her is a tool that brings to the surface questions that stimulate an internal dialogue with the Self and a means that activates the individual and sharpens their senses and perceptions.

She found yoga at a young age. Even though she loved her contact with this practice from the very beginning, she changed many types of yoga until she met her Teacher, Naya Karnava. In her person as well as in her Teaching she recognized what she was looking for: the expansion of consciousness as a useful tool for one’s own life. She views the union of Matter and Spirit, of the I and the Being, as an eternal and evolving journey of awareness.

Her studies and interests center on the role of art in contemporary society. During her internship at the Venice Art Factory gallery, she took on responsibilities related to exhibition curating. Through her master’s thesis, “AS ONE: MAI + Neon, an artistic project for raising consciousness in Greece”, she examined the performing arts, the expansion of artistic boundaries, and public engagement with art.

“Art is not just a visual means but a way of life. Through art’s redefinement and repositioning in society, man gains access and interacts with it. In this relationship the essence of Art is recognized, i.e. the Beauty, the inspiration, the creativity and the courage that every Individual-Creator can bring to their Work and to their Life.”
